beef stroganoff

~ Mary ~

A childhood friend emailed me, last month, asking for Patty’s Beef Stroganoff recipe. I was more than a little stunned that I had never posted it here on Foodo. Especially since this was my most favorite dish growing up.

Patty’s Beef Stroganoff

Sauté

1½ – 2 pounds Beef Strips

in large skillet over medium heat with some Olive Oil until medium.

Push meat aside and add:

3 Cups Julienne Onions

1 Tbsp Fresh Garlic

sauté until translucent. Add:

1 Tbsp Beef Base (may substitute beef broth for water down below)

1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard

3 Tbsp Wondra Flour

1 Tbsp Worcestershire

¼ Cup White Wine

stir constantly until mixed well and add:

1-2 cups water depending on how saucy you like it.

Simmer until meat is cooked through and tender 145°

Turn heat to medium low and add:

3 Cups Sliced Mushrooms

1 Cup Sour Cream

and heat through to desired doneness.

Serve over

1 pound Egg Noodles

Fill large sauce pan 3/4 full of water add 1 tsp Salt. Bring to boil add pasta and cook 7-9 minutes or until desired doneness. Drain and serve.
