~ Katy & Mary ~

There’s a contest going on over at Food Buzz and Foodo has entered into the fray.  There will be recipe challenges, essays, videos, dinner parties and more.  There are over 1800 contestants.  The heat is ON!  It’s time to bring out the big guns and horns!  Horns?  Yes, horns! We need to toot BLAST to you and the world what defines us, and make it clear why Food o’ del Mundo should be the next Food Blog Star.

.

We have fallen in love with the food blog.  Which one, you ask?  All of them.  The entire concept of them.  The sheer delight of all of that creativity just bursting forth from the screen, waiting for us at the touch of our fingertips, calling forward our own desire to get cooking, baking and throwing our own creative energy into the proverbial (and literal) mix.  They are inspiring, heartwarming, funny, informative, mouth-watering, beautiful and practical.  We, meaning the creators of Food o’ del Mundo, just had to add our own spin on the food blog and get ourselves together over a virtual kitchen table to enjoy one another’s company once again.  After all, with all of us now scattered around the world, it’s usually the only way we can get together these days.  We are a core family of eight with fabulous significant-others, grandkids/nieces and nephews, and we can see our similarities and make fun of our differences, give each other grief and tell our stories again, keep up with the new and reminisce about the old, all via the surroundings of our virtual dining room.

.

In all of our food blog travels, we have never seen a concept such as Foodo’s.  With us, it isn’t only about the food. It’s about our family, the various cultures we encounter and, inevitably, the food those cultures, places and travels introduce us to.  It’s about connecting through cooking and the memories and stories that food evokes in a family chock full of foodies.

.

While we all enjoy the process (especially the eating part), we are also a family that was raised to be inclusive of everyone and to try everything at least once.  With that in mind, this blog came naturally, and it is very user-friendly, never too high-brow, and highly accessible to those who wish to keep it simple, those who would like a challenge, and everyone else, as well.  Take a look at the following to see what I mean. We’ve got it all,

.

…..from elementary to extravagant……………….approachable to gourmet

.

……………………………………..and indulgent to restrained.

……………………………………..

.

…………..From basic to bizarre…………………………………..ethnic to familiar

.

…………………………………..and vegetarian to carnivorous.

……………………………………..

.

We don’t preach, we’re not fussy; we love to just make it work. Truly, there’s something here for everyone at every level on his or her culinary journey. No matter what, you’ll never tire of the variety.  When you peruse Foodo, it may evoke your own memories, an idea for your next meal, a good laugh, or all of the above.  Foodo’s posts also promise great memories to be made (literally and figuratively) for family and friends.

.

For those who might feel they’re the only ones who fail in the kitchen, we’ve got Clunkers, Stinkers and Crappers. See?  We weren’t lying when we said everyone!

.

.

Worried about your skill level?  Don’t be.
We’ve got recipes for beginners, advanced cooks and every level in-between.
Click on any photo to be taken to its post.

.

We have enjoyed communicating with one another through Foodo and hearing what our followers have to say about what certain posts mean to them, how they tried and liked or didn’t like a recipe, or how they put their own spin on it.  We’ve also gotten lots of great suggestions both recipe-wise and advice-wise.  As usual, food brings us together.

.

We’re one mighty big family that lives and travels throughout the world.   We also spent much of our lives on a farm where we raised cattle, chicken, sheep, pigs and geese plus grew and processed our own crops, vegetables, fruits and herbs.  We come here not only to share our love of food and a few recipes, we come here to catch up with each other and share some great memories.

.

We welcome you to our table!
